12 września 1994 - Douglas, Isle of Man – Strathallan Crescent. The 3 ft gauge Douglas Corporation horse tramway continues (just about) to run every summer, but only with an infrequent service. This is the last original horse tramway still operating in the world. This 1990s view shows cars that are today stored out of use, including ‘turtle-back’ roof saloon car 27 of 1892. The Summerland entertainment complex behind the trams was opened in 1971 but destroyed by fire two years later, killing over 50 people. A portion was later rebuilt, but is now demolished.
