@JP - Many British bus companies in the late 1940s and the 1950s were grouped into either British Electric Traction (BET) or the Tilling Group, which owned Bristol Tramways and also the manufacturing side of Bristol and ECW. For this reason, if you were a Tilling company, you were told you must buy only Bristol buses, to keep the money in the Group. Similarly, BET companies had to buy from non-Tilling builders.
