Linia 101, odjeżdżająca w 15-minutowym takcie (również w niedziele i święta) łączy zachodnią dzielnicę Borbeck z centrum miasta i położonym na południu Rüttenscheid. Co ciekawe, linia jest jednokierunkowa, powrót odbywa się linią 106 o dokładnie odwrotnej trasie.

7 maja 2023 - Essen - Frohnhausen, Berliner Strasse. Z okazji miejskiego festynu "Frohnhauser Mai" VHAG zorganizowało przejazdy półtorapiętrowego autobusu na części trasy linii 160 (odcinek Berliner Strasse - Borbeck Bf). Przejazdy odbywały się za okazaniem ważnego biletu sieci VRR (Deutschland Ticket również), a podczas jazdy drużyna konduktorska zbierała datki na działanie muzeum komunikacji.

15 sierpnia 2020 - Essen, Altendorfer Straße. Wóz fajny, jak to Bombardier, ale malowanie no powiedzmy sobie szczerze - słabe. To samo w Bochum gdzie mieli bardzo ładne malowanie szaro-bordowo-czerwone a zrobili jakiś koszmarek szaro-niebieskawy.

21 września 2013 - Essen, Germany - betriebshof/zajezdnia Stadtmitte: A very impressive works car of the Essen tramways, built in 1924 by the Mitteldeuscher Steelworks and obviously still useful. It is shown here complete with its matching match wagon #721. I wonder if they allow it into their extensive tram subways, however, as it looks far too big to operate there?

This one has a slight complication, as its fleet number was re-used for one of the new Bombardier cars, so there are now two #1501 in the fleet.

Interesting trams, free rides, a beer tent and even half-dressed dancing girls - what was there not to like?

21 września 2013 - Essen, Germany - betriebshof/zajedznia Stadtmitte: Standing next to the Oberhausen Herbrand car was this 1921 tram which was another rescue. It was originally supplied to the Herten tramways, but eventually finished up in Essen and has now been restored in Essen livery, although I don`t think it ever worked here. TWB calls it a KSW car, but it certainly isn`t, although it may have been built by Uerdingen.

21 września 2013 - Essen, Germany - betriebshof/zajedznia Stadtmitte: An amazing survivor from the very early days of tramways is this 1899 vehicle from Herbrand of Koln, once #25 in the original fleet of the Oberhausen tramways. In the 1990s this was a derelict heap of junk standing in the open air, but it was later rescued and fully restored as shown here.

It is now in this rather startling all-over bright green livery.

The city of Mulheim is connected by tram to Essen and is now part of an area-wide shared organisation called Ruhrbahn.

Sadly, they got in the way of a clear picture of the tram....

This unusual style of bus was quite fashionable in Germany during the 1990s.

21 września 2013 - Essen, Germany - betriebshof/zajedznia: At the Essen city tram depot, a very smart 1952 Scholing track car which has had several owners in its relatively short life. Built for the Solingen tramways, in whose livery it is shown here, it passed to the Vestische Strassenbahnen in 1959 and was then transferred to Essen, who eventually passed it to the Bergische tram Museum where it now resides. It was brought specially back to Essen for a depot open day in 2013.
