18 lutego 2010 - Cairo (EG) - el Mataria. In addition to their Kinki Sharyo trams, Cairo has a large batch of these Japanese-built Hitachi cars. Here at el Mataria, all remaining Cairo city lines terminate before returning to Heliopolis by various routes. 4265 + 4266 have just come along the connecting track from Port Suez depot (the only one remaining on CTA city lines) along nearly 2km of single track laid in the 'wrong' lane of a busy dual carriageway - great fun in the crazy Cairo traffic! Only around seventeen city tram sets are now turned out each day, with the rest of the Heliopolis service being formed of proper 'interurban' style trams. Soon, another new metro line will open and these remaining ex-city lines will disappear.
