PD2 / 37; 3706 VM was originally owned and operated by Manchester City Transport as number 3706. Manchester City Transport operations were transferred to the Central division of the Selnec Passenger Transport Executive on 1st November 1969. The Selnec Passenger Transport Executive’s operations were transferred to the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive on 1st April 1974 due to local government reorganisation. 3706 VM was withdrawn from service on 17th April 1981. It was purchased in July 1981 for a road trip to Asia but never left United Kingdom shores, and carries a HE sticker showing it had been allocated to the Hyde Road depot in Manchester. It was sold to Chris Duffy for preservation at some time and in November 2015 was sold to Peter Crichton! |
