6 września 2008 - Darmstadt, Germany - Weinbergstrasse. Darmstadt has a quite extensive metre-gauge tramway network that is now being extended again after some closures a few years ago. Line 3 passes through an older part of the city on single track in some very narrow streets and is also steeply graded in places. Car 9867 completely fills the street as it enters a passing loop, leaving hardly any room for other traffic.

6 września 2008 - Darmstadt, Germany - Ludwigshohstrasse. Even in such tight places, other traffic is permitted to use the street. Here, car 9867 comes up the hill from the city centre on a gutter-running track. These trams are a bit ‘boxy’ and not very stylish, but seem reliable.

6 września 2008 - Darmstadt (DE) – Ludwigshohstrasse. Another view in the old town – single track with passing loops, and two-way for all traffic, with parking permitted!
