15 września 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tramway depot: Back on the west side system, here is one of two "AB" numbered trams in the Kiev works car fleet. I assume that the designation tells you what these trams are designed for - my guess is that they are towing cars to pull broken down trams around the network? That would explain the extra bank of resistances on the roof, where they are cooled by the outside air.

15 września 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tramway depot: The standee windows of this ex-passenger tram reveal it to be an MTV-82 class vehicle of around 1950 - now quite a rare survivor. What it`s now used for is a mystery - perhaps the GRU use it to travel round the tramway network in secret? Anyway, it looks very much like a disguised American PCC car in this condition.

15 września 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske depot: This is where my British computer keyboard lets me down! The fleet number is obviously different in Cyrillic and I`m not sure of the function of this tram - maybe some kind of hopper to carry bulk material for track works?

15 września 2018 - Kiev, Ukraine - Podilske tram depot: A large system, now fallen on hard times and mostly neglected, the Kiev tramways are now divided into two separate zones east and west of the Dnieper river. What investment there is has taken place on the west bank, where new trams are operating on rebuilt tracks. As would be expected, there were once many works trams around the system supporting operations and many remain, although they look as though they are no longer used to any extent. Here are some photos of ones which remain, all in the yard of a depot just to the north of the city centre. This first one is a general carrier truck and is still well used.

13 września 2018 - Vitebsk, Belarus: Another interesting-looking works tram, but completely squeezed into a place where photographs were impossible. I think this was probably once a passenger MTV-82, but I couldn`t see what type of body it now carries.

13 września 2018 - Vitebsk, Belarus: This hopper tram was obviously once a passenger car and has a very distinctive front end that I have seen before somewhere - MTV-82? Anyway, it is now fitted with twin hoppers to carry bulk materials such ans graven an ballast to sites where it is required.

13 września 2018 - Vitebsk, Belarus: Today I will show pictures of all the works trams seen in the depot of Vitebsk tramways, the oldest system in Belarus. A few problems, though - I have no idea of the make and type of most of these vehicles and they were rather crammed in to the depot sidings, making photography difficult. This overhead line car is easy to identify, though, as it has already been listed on TWB and helpfully shows its original fleet number on the side window. I would be glad of some help to identify their original makes and types, please, as I can`t translate Cyrillic script - thanks.

26 czerwca 2014 - Daugavpils (LV), 18. novembra iela. Po Daugavpils wciąż kursują wagony RWZ-6 o przedpotopowym wyglądzie. Tego dnia zaobserwowałem dwa na "dwójce" i jednego na linii 1. Co ciekawe, w ruchu nie widziałem żadnej Tatry, jeździły same KTM-y...
